Dear 2016 Provincial Heritage Fair Delegate
Congratulations on being chosen to represent your region at the 2016 Provincial Heritage Fair Showcase taking place at Metepenagiag Heritage Park in Red Bank, June 24 to 26, 2016.
You will be among fifteen (15) students from across the province who will be coming together and presenting their Heritage Fair projects to the public at Government House. The staff of Heritage Branch, as well as Metepenagiag Heritage Park, are now placing the finishing touches on the three-day Provincial Showcase in Red Bank. It is important that you and at least one of your parents/guardians attend.
In confirmation of your participation, this parental permission form will need to be completed and signed by your parents/guardians and faxed back to me - (506-453-2416) - before May 30. Then we will be able to follow up this communication with an e-mail directing your parents to the Provincial Heritage Fair blog site.
Over this three-day "Heritage Camp", you will have the opportunity to meet 14 other students from throughout New Brunswick.
On Friday, June 24th, we will all meet at 6:00 pm (including your parents/guardians), at the visitors entrance of the museum for a meet and greet and to register.
On Saturday, June 25th, the program will take place on site at Metepenagiag Heritage Park, where you will take part in various indoor and outdoor activities. At day’s end, you will have the rare opportunity to sleep over at the museum in the tipis on site.
On Sunday, June 26th, you will be busy at the museum all morning, preparing for the opening ceremony at 11:00am. During this event, the Honourable Jocelyne Roy Vienneau, Lieutenant-Governor of New Brunswick and other special guests will gather for a celebration of New Brunswick Heritage. At this time, you will be presented with a special Provincial medal.
I hope that you are excited about participating! We have a special program planned for you, and are certain that your entire family will enjoy their heritage immersion weekend at Metepenagiag Heritage Park.
Looking forward to June 24, 25 and 26!
